Engagement Photos in the Vineyard

I redesigned my other blog page today that I mainly use for photography, but I'm making it more of just a life blog with pictures lol.  Check it out here if you would like! :c)  Now on to this entry.

Last month we took pictures with my friend Kimberly Hartmann (click her name to visit her facebook page) for an engagement session in a vineyard.  It was a ton of fun.  So here's some of the pictures she took.

Love this one from in between the balloons :c)

Guess we can't change the date now! LoL

Redesign!

I decided to redesign this blog as you might can tell.  Before it was specifically for photography, but I'm making it a general blog and will tag photography posts!

Let me know your thoughts! :c)

Abstract Photography

I am a part of a photography club here in Gainesville.  Actually, I've joined a couple now, but that's besides the point heh.  The photography club I'm mentioning meets once a month and has a theme for the month for the pictures we share.  The theme for this month was "Contemporary" The definition for this was altering reality/abstract.   This isn't something I go out and actively shoot (though sometimes I take them here and there) but I found this fun to try.  When we share photographs we can share 3 of the theme, 3 general, and 2 black and white.  Below are the photographs I shared:

This one was taken from a water spicket.

I had another where the color of the sky/water showed more; however, I like it like this better to make it more subtle that the bottom part is a reflection in the water.

Some others I did not share:

posted this entry before, but want to submit it for:

Location Attempt #1

I found a location this week that I thought looked awesome, at least online.  And, based on the online pricing information seemed reasonable.  I e-mailed the contact for more information, and to see if they were still open for next October 6.  Unfortunately, they are booked for October 6 :c(  Bummer!  Well, they have the morning open, but we both aren't really morning people so I want the wedding late afternoon/evening lol.

People keep saying I need to find a location, but at least I'm trying!  LoL  One place I think would be nice is a beach, however there's other locations where the ceremony and reception can be at the same place.  So, still looking and thinking! :c)

Anyone in the Gainesville/Jacksonville area with venue ideas?

Whispering Close

Recently sculptures were brought into the Gainesville community. I'd only seen one so far and then heard they were removing them.  So I went on a search to find some to take pictures of.  I only found the one, lol so lame.  I blame it on the map because it needed more detail!  Anywho....

This one is named Whispering Close inspired by "Dance in the City" by Pierre Auguste Renoir for the Crossing Paths Project. Sculpture by Seward Johnson.

When you look at the statue from his side it looks like a sweet moment, but she just looks annoyed from her side lol.  Shows you what perspective can do!

I was attempting to be creative with the shots to focus more on their outstretched hands and his hand on her back.

It looks so much like a painting even though this is a picture.  He did an awesome job on the sculptures!

I also took some pictures on the walk back to the car...

Redesign

I was a busy bee last night!  Besides posting the entry on here last night (gasp!) I was making stuff for my page.  I redesigned from the previous.  I liked how it was, but something was missing so I played around in photoshop until I got something that I want, for now. ;c)
Here's what it was before:
Before ending up with the one I have now I created this one:

And because I will most likely change it I'll post what I have now to have record. LoL

This is the icon for the favorites bar too:
I also created this for Kim and I's podcast.  Come check us out if you haven't already!  N3RDc@st on Facebook and iTunes.  Or check out our blog!

While I'm at it I should share my other page also:

Procrastination much? ;c)

The Indecisiveness continues!

Oh my goodness, it's an entry!  :c)

There were several times that I decided to do an entry, then I decided against it...back and forth.  So now I've decided I need to do one! lol

Anywho, long time no see,  where did we last see each other? Oh yes, in the last entry I wrote:
  • June: Sentimental (month we met and will be 5 years in 2012 and month he proposed), before my 30th birthday in August, less time to wait
  • October: Favorite season (fall) with cooler weather, my birthday is august his is september so it would lead to October.. LoL.  Yes, I'm a nerd!  I think it would be kewl to be married on 10-11-12 but it's during the week, and Iwant a weekend wedding.
I kept going back and forth with it, and would talk about it.  Tony finally just said one night just to let him know when I made up my mind because he doesn't care either way.  So I was like June!  The date we're planning is June 2nd, 2012.  (NERD ALERT: 6-2-12 ... 6 x 2 = 12 hehe)
It's time for an update!  Very shortly after that entry I determined it was way too hot in June for the wedding because I most likely want an outside ceremony.  If anything, I want pictures outside and do not want to be miserable...which in Florida weather we would.   The Saturday before 10/11/12 is 10/6/12, which is perfect because the 6 represents June (at least that's how things work in my brain.)  Yes, I'm a nerd.

This past Saturday, the girls in the wedding party and I all got together to eat out and have a little fun.  I thought this would be nice so that everyone could meet each other more.  Some of them have met briefly here and there, but for other events and such so it was nice just to have the goal be to hang out with each other.  We went to eat and then wanted to stop by the beach; however, it was rainy all day. [sad face]  Instead we went to a new arcade in a family center.  That was loads of fun!

On the way home, those of us that rode from Gainesville, had a sing-a-long to some old classics.  Such as Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees.  Also, some Adele of course because she's a new awesome.  And of course Gnarls Barkley's Crazy was played. :c)

Catch you later, need to start planning some more stuff!  Then I can post more too lol.  Next item on the list...location, location, location!
