Randomness

Long time no post!  That's my problem, I start things then take a while to finish them, or keep up with them.  LoL

Date, Themes, Location...Oh my!

We meet again!  I've named this blog what I have because most people (fiance and some friends) tease with me about how indecisive I am and how making decisions during planning the wedding will be interesting. LoL :c)  Which is so true, there's so much planning to do for a wedding!  I've definitely had bride brain.  So many options!
Choosing a Date:  When I tell people about the engagement the first question is usually asking when the wedding will be.  Therefore, this was the first planning hurdle to decide.  At least I was pretty quick to narrow down when I'd like to have it- sometime next year.  After some thinking I was trying to decide between having it in June or October.  I know, different ends of the spectrum. I think that's why I'm so indecisive at times, I have specific reasons for each choice!  I ended up doing a chart with the pros and cons of each decision.
  • June: Sentimental (month we met and will be 5 years in 2012 and month he proposed), before my 30th birthday in August, less time to wait
  • October: Favorite season (fall) with cooler weather, my birthday is august his is september so it would lead to October.. LoL.  Yes, I'm a nerd!  I think it would be kewl to be married on 10-11-12 but it's during the week, and Iwant a weekend wedding.
I kept going back and forth with it, and would talk about it.  Tony finally just said one night just to let him know when I made up my mind because he doesn't care either way.  So I was like June!  The date we're planning is June 2nd, 2012.  (NERD ALERT: 6-2-12 ... 6 x 2 = 12 hehe)
Theme/Color:  At first I had two color schemes in mind, but was leaning more towards one.  The theme was a Tuscan Vineyard theme- purple and green.  The purple for the grapes and the green for the vines.   That theme would fit more for an October wedding with deep colors.  So then I was thinking could do a vintage vineyard wedding with lighter colors for a June wedding.  Then while browsing some friends found this flower:

It's so gorgeous!  I love it!  And it was like the other color scheme I was thinking of because purple is my favorite color and blue is his.  Besides, I'm not a big fan of tooo much green and I think I would have gotten tired of it by the time of the wedding even though I love the vineyard theme.  I think I've got two of the major decisions down, now to choose a location. . .

The Proposal

Hello!  This is my first post for this blog, and I may as well start at the beginning of this adventure.   Earlier this month (June 2nd, 2011 to be exact)  My then boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Discovery Cove.  It was one of the best days ever!  More on that day below,  I guess I should actually start with how we met.

We met online 4 years ago in June 2007 through a site called "Hot or Not."  They had the option where you could say "Yes" or "No" if you would like to meet someone.  Tony has told me that my picture appeared a couple times and he put no because he thought I was "out of his league"  Luckily, my picture showed up again and he said yes.  The rest is history.
Cut back to June 2nd, 2011.    We headed down to Orlando on June 1st.   Tony had planned the whole vacation for us.  All I knew was that we would be going to Aquatica & Universal Studios,  and that our friends Beth and Gabe, whom have Universal annual passes as well, would be coming down on the Friday night.   Tony and I headed down to Orlando on Wednesday.  On the drive down he told me one of his surprises, that we would be going to Discovery Cove on Thursday.

Discovery Cove was amazing.

First we visited the Aviary and Coral Reef before our time slot with the dolphin swim.
After that we went in the lazy river they have.  Towards the beginning there is a cave you swim through with waterfalls on the outside.  Once inside there's a secluded cave part on the side with a hole in the top where you can see the bamboo.  It was a very awesome setting.  When we first went into that part Tony was getting aggrivated and making comments about it being crowded.  I suppose I should have wondered something because it was only 2 other people in there at the time and he was getting upset lol.  Once they left he proposed to me, and I say Yes! :c)  He then told me that our friends actually weren't coming down, that was just part of the story so I wouldn't catch on.  Very sneaky, but very good lol.  We spent the rest of the day at Discovery Cove.  The vacation was awesome, Friday afternoon we headed to Universal Studios, Saturday was Aquatica and Sunday we headed home.
